Team Evil's Cassette Tape Magazine - for those with small pockets and short attention spans. Issue 1 features articles on alpacas, MF DOOM, old Neo Geo games, bad taste wolf art, John Woo, creepy robot sex, misc schlock and more. It's totally win and you should buy it so we can afford more heroin. Thxkbai.
Wolf Panda t-shirts
Wolf Panda t-shirts are finally back in stock. Everyone's favourite (fake) Panda garage band are out of retirement and appearing on quality American Apparel tees. People will stop you in the street and compliment you on your awesomess when you wear these. True story.
2010 wraps up in about 24 hours and everyone has been busy compiling their annual best of lists. We did that half-assed thing a couple of posts back where we mentioned we sorta liked that track with Lil Wayne and Washed Out. Might have to do a proper update thing before time runs out…. In the meantime, Transworld have released this video of 2010 street skating.
Still in Brisbane for the Christmas break. Raining, temperature in the high 20s, humidity around 100%. Apparently it’s been like this for the past month. Horrible, just horrible… Obviously no kind of weather for getting any work done. Here, instead, are some images that I haven’t bothered to credit.
Neither of these are proper singles / songs. Neither have videoclips. Not even sure if they were technically released in 2010 … but I listened to these more than pretty much anything else. It’s a weird mix of hip hop, chillwave and witch house. Go figure…
Oh yeah, also liked Ariel Pink, Yeezy, Deerhunter, Best Coast.
My last Trashbaggery column of 2010 is up at Lifelounge. It features: Miley Cyrus smoking a bong, Kardashians releasing kreepy kristmas kards, Oprah being Oprah, Tommy Lee freaking out about SICK & TWISTED whale masturantion, January Jones getting naked, Ariel Pink winning the Internet and, like, a million videos.
Wrote a thing for Lifelounge about Mutant Concept Cars. All those ridiculous sports cars that were wheeled out back in the 70s and 80s but never made it to production. Such a shame…
Anyway, while researching all that, I stumbled across some illustrations of REAL cars that were also pretty epic/win/awesome. Here’s a few.
Have you seen that Tron promo / skate demontration video doing the rounds? They did this thing at the Melbourne movie premier with an interactive skate ramp that tracked movement. It was actually pretty cool and if it hadn’t been for horrible work deadlines I would have been there to see that shit myself. Instead, I get to watch it online here, or here … or pretty much every where else.
Meanwhile, here’s a Krooked Skate video… edited on drugs, presumably.
I’m actually too young to have watched this as a kid, but I know a good opening theme when I hear one…
For the record, Battle of the Planets was released in the US in 1978 and is an adaptation of the 1972 Japanese series, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Unlike a lot of Japanese to American cartoon translations, the plot actually remained quite close to the original and the edits were more about removing drinking/ ultra violence / transgender characters.
Meanwhile, there’s supposed to be a CGI movie version released in 2011. It’s looking, um, something, something…
